Myanmar Nurse and Midwife Council (MNMC) held a one-day workshop on Dissemination of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Guideline and Relicensing Process for Nurses and Midwives at Regional Public Health Department in Bago on 4 October, 2024. Dr Thiha, Head of Bago Regional Public Health and Medical Services Department delivered the opening remark and Daw Nwe Nwe Khin, President of MNMC provided the welcome remark. Responsible persons from Bago Regional Public Health and Medical Services Department, Central Executive Committee members of MNMC and participants attended the opening ceremony of the workshop. President and Central Executive Committee (CEC) members of MNMC shared the following topics at a one-day dissemination event:
– Daw Nwe Nwe Khin (President of MNMC): Regulation of Professional Practice through CPD and Roll-out Plan
– Daw Than Than Soe (Secretary of MNMC): Orientation to CPD Logbook
– Professor Daw Hla Hla Aye (Joint Secretary of MNMC): Standard Operational Procedure Manual of CPD system
-Dr Kyawt Kyawt Swe (CEC, MNMC): The CPD Mechanism and Responsibilities of CPD Providers
– Professor Daw Khin Thein (CEC, MNMC): CPD Types, Points and CPD Fees
– Daw Nan Nan Aung (National Consultant, WHO): Nurse and Midwife Regulation and Continuing Professional Development.
A total of 116 participants including senior principals (deputy directors, assistant directors), principals, and teaching staff from Nursing and Midwifery Training Schools in the region; nursing superintendents (deputy directors, assistant directors), matrons, nursing officers, sisters, staff nurses and trained nurses from Bago General Hospital and public hospitals in the region; and assistant directors, nursing officers, and nurses and midwives from Bago Regional Public Health and Medical Services Department and public health centers under Ministry of Health as well as nurses and midwives from private hospitals in this region attended this workshop. Completion certificates of the Workshop were awarded to the participants. The closing remarks for the workshop was delivered by Dr Thiha, Head of Bago Regional Public Health and Medical Services Department.
