40th ASEAN Joint Coordinating Committee on Nursing (40th AJCCN) meeting was held at G Hotel Gurney in Penang, Malaysia on 11-12 February 2025 in a hybrid format. The AJCCN meeting was held back-to-back with the HSSWG Meeting and the 109th Meeting of the ASEAN Coordinating Committee on Services (CCS), which were held on 12 February 2025 and 11-15 February 2025 respectively. Daw Nwe Nwe Khin, President of Myanmar Nurse and Midwife Council (MNMC) and Dr Kyawt Kyawt Swe Central Executive Committee (CEC) member attended the AJCCN meeting and HSSWG Meeting.
The AJCCN meeting discussed the strategic action plans: mapping of nursing competency to NQF, the latest compilation of guidelines for nursing curriculum, mechanism of mobility for ASEAN Nurse, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for Nursing, networking between Nursing Regulatory Authority, education Institutions and other agencies, AJCCN DATABASE, direct links to national websites, digital/electronic registration certificate and practising certificate, and Digitalization in Nursing Services.
Daw Nwe Nwe Khin, the president of MNMC presented and discussed the work undertaken by MNMC in this specified period including progress in development of CPD system for Myanmar nurses and midwives.
